I had a runaway with my ST-1 (not the trucks fault). Ran full speed (45 ish mph) into a parked car. Damage? Broke a servo arm, yep that's it. Lost a few strews also.

AOther cars woul have been bent in half.

Oh and I am going to race it next weekend.

Plenty of people have done that with plenty of different truggies. Stupid excuse to say it is tough. All depends on how you truck hits what it hits. The runaway thing always seems to be said by ST-1 owners though to prove there truck is tough, maybe it is the trucks fault! LOL!

I think you will be disappointed in that decision , but it is your choice . Duratrax doesn`t make good quality cars/trucks in my opinion , especially if you plan on racing .

Bad choice but I guess we can't do anything about it.

No, you did not make a decision, I don't think you have the ability to decide. I am equally as excited about your birthday as you are, I can't wait to see what you get.

my dad says since gas prices are going up, i wont be able to go there also if they do go down still only go like 2 times throughout the whole summer. It sucks[], now im just not going to get a racer its not worth it if you know what i mean. I guess im going to get a basher. Like the new t-maxx 3.3

I still think you should get the tt-st-1 even for bashing. I've heard of many durability issues with the t-maxx, I don't know if that would be the best choice for bashing.

Having owned many rc's in the past 20 years starting with a kyosho ultima in 1987 . I now have 2 dtx warheads 3 dtx razes 1 ttr st-1 to to name a few. The ttr st-1 is by far my favorite amain has them for around 300. dollars which is 100. cheaper than 400. at tower for the raze st .the raze is a pretty good truggy but cannot compare to the quality of the ttr st-1 i prefer the fm radio with the raze over the am radio with the ttr st-1 but the ttr st-1 servos are a lot stronger than the raze servos. The raze super tiger is a pretty good engine if treated right imo, but not as strong as the thunder tiger pro 28 I bump start all my rc's . on a funny note i use a raze st fuel tank on my ttr st-1 it can be mounted further foward and i prefer it over the ttr fuel tank also the bearings are of higher quality with the ttr st-1 But for a ego boast if you happen to race with a raze at your local track and beat the guys with the high dollar truggies the raze really throws them for a loop. The people i race against dont mind as much getting beat by a ttr st-1 but if you stomp them with a raze it is really funny. nuff said

I think we shall call him Quaiz Jr. LOL! All of you guys that have been here awhile should know what I am talking about!
Lmao. Yeah I used to be like that. Never could decide on what to get . Ive moved onto buggies, we hardly run into each other anymore LOL. Just picked up a X1 CR FTE unseen, love the damn thing . A new thread should be up in a few days, on which buggy to buy .

Now Derek.

Get the ST1, and be done with it. You'll get MANY suggestions on what to buy. Trust these guys, some of them do know what they're talking about.

Why'd you take the Castor off the list, vnmsgt must have not taken that lightly

derek the ttr st-1 can be converted to a monster truck the stock upper arms and lower arms allow a eight shock option along with the option of a two speed center dif [transmission] not sure if the twospeed locks the center diff or works along with it [to lazy to investagate] These parts are ttr options so it won't be a aftermarket hack job .just something else to think about when getting a st-1 That way if your local race track should allows the st-1 with the 2 speed to race against the Losi lst ,AE mgt DTX warhead and other mt's. ie: Monster truck that handles like a truggy :] something about that says one fast revo killer lol
