I'm working my way up to getting a nitro truck and have been looking into an MT2, {even though I'll probably get a baja 5b super sport due to rising nitro prices and the fact that it is just plain cheaper to run}. Anyway, I was wondering what the advantage of an MT2 super sport was over a rtr MT2 G3.0. The reason I'm considering the kit version is just because I like building my own kits and was hoping that it may be a better quality of parts. I'm just wondering why the kit cost about $330 and the ready to run cost about the same price. Do they both have the same .18 engine {a 3.0 engine is also the same as an .18, right}. I just don't want to spend more money only to build a kit if you catch my drift.

I just went to hpi's website and it says that the rtr version of the MT2 has 2.2 horsepower compared to the super sport version's engine that has only 1.5 horsepower. It also says that the g3.0 version has a redesigned suspension. I'm really surprised that hpi hasn't came out with a kit version of the new and improved MT2 G3.0. Is HPI forgetting the guys that still like to build kits?!?!

the mt2 ss has hardened diffs, drive cups, slipper clutch, and other better parts then the mt2 g3.0.a tuned alum. pipe. softer compound tires. i think thats about it other than the motors.
