Default Nitro TC3 Engine replacement

What is the most powerful .12 engine I can put into my NTC3 for under $200? I have $285 set aside but figure I need a better coolant head than what the engine comes with.

Another thing:

What the hell is a boost bottle and is it worth it? I see some OFNA engines come with them.

some of the higher end engines have very good cooling heads.

ive seen some tc3's on ebay, and these are some of the engines that were in them. i dont own one(yet), but just to let your know.

RB .12
NovaRossi Turbo and Non-Turbo .12
Fantom .15
Sirio .12 (many of them to choose from)

this is only what ive seen in other people cars on ebay. the guys who have tc3 near me all have either a Fantom or and O.S. in them.

and a boost bottle? dunno ive heard of them, but ive never seen any footage of with and with out.

Default Nitro TC3 Engine replacement

I went to local hobby store and priced new engine. Looked at a Mugen .12 engine and new exhaust and mounts and clutch and stuff.

All I needed was there, was going to cost around $270. I was like WOW - Thought I could do it for like 200 maybe 225 max. So I need to wait.

mugen engines are made by the novarossi company so buy it with confidence that it a high quality product.

if you saw its out of your price range, do liek you said...wait til you got enough money. if you buy something cheaper your going to get bored with it soon and want something else.

Why do you have to replace your exhaust, clutch etc.?

Did you damage them?

If not, the stock exhaust, clutch etc. works out just fine in the ntc3 and the mt 12 and os tr .12 in my opinion are the best bets, I had a friend with a pixi .12 which I believe is rated at around 1.6 hp, but the mt .12's and os tr .12 are just as fast.

You should be able to find a new mt-12 or tr for around $125-$140, I've seen them pop up on ebay now and then.

here's a great deal on a used tr .12

It just dawned on me that maybe you don't currently have rear exhaust but even if you needed new exhaust, you should be able to easily stay below $225...

The ebay links do not work. I thought a .12 was a 12 - Though I did not think I had to replace exhaust. I am not sure why they were insisting on that. I understand replacing the manifold if it is different but the pipe should be able to keep using until I can aford a new one.

I am holding off for now. Have to figure everything out.
