Ok fellows I have a problem. There is a diff bearing missing. When I drove it, there was a loud clicking noise coming from the rear differential. So I knew something was wrong. I took apart the rear differential and WAALLAAAA!!! There is a differential bearing missing (RC-016D). And guess what, it stripped the bevel gear (RC-017). So now I cant even ride my brand new crawler.
I am expecting Himoto to care of this situation. I need a bearing and new bevel gear.
Someone please contact me. And please use USPS shipping and not UPS because UPS takes 7 days and USPS takes 2-3 days.
[email protected]
Thank you.

RE: ****OFFICIAL ROCK CRAWLER THREAD****
So I 'made' a bearing out of a plastic tube and I shimmed the pinion to where its real snug against the crown gear and the crawler is ALIVEEE!!!!
So far I love this thing. I did put a longer servo horn to give it a better turn radius. I will post a video of me crawling over fire wood.
This is thing has tons of power and will climb a 90 degree wall.
I am thinking of locking the rear end but I am afraid I will put too much stress on the diff and strip it.
I am waiting for the metal gears too.

We will have the diff locker, metal gears and other upgades available very soon but Adams diff locking is one of the best ways to go.

Here is my first video of this bad boy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYek6MdOlyQ
I have a question. I am new to electric so bare with me. The crawler goes faster in reverse than forward. When I adjust the throttle trim on the transmitter, it goes faster but then it doesnt go in reverse and at idle it creeps forward. Is this normal for it to go faster in reverse than forward?

So what would it take to make the rear steer to be on a 3 way switch on the controller so you can flip the switch to turn the wheels.

It can be normal, since its more for torque than speed, it can be the way the speed control is setup. I wouldnt worry about it.

you would need a 3 channel radio. I think you would want to keep it on 4 wheel steer all the time.
Come to think of it, you would need a little more than a 3 channel radio, you would need to have it also hooked up to the steering channel so it steers in the oposite direction of the steering channel. I will have to do a little investigation or maybe someone else can chime in.

The reason why im asking is sometimes you just need the rear tires turned or just the front tires turned. Also since the steering arm is in the back it makes it opposite of the front.
