well about 5 minutes ago I took my recoil start off my duratrax maximum BX (that I have had for less than a week) because the starter was slipping. I took it off the car and pulled it slow to see if it would slip and BOOM! all the pieces exploded in my face!!! yup that wasn't fun. Well what i was wondering is 1. if its repairable and 2. if duratrax will replace it if its not repairable. Well if the answer to both questions is no than i made a 26 dollar mistake. thanks for any help

it is fixable same thing happened when my friend decided to screw wih my pullstart you can wind it back up make sure you get it as tight as possible and make sure the cord doesn't wind up with it then stick it back in its casing and let it wind back up itself this will take A LOT of patience kause you will prolly mess up a bunch of times but good luck

I've honestly learned that it is just worth the $20 - $30 to just go out and buy a new one. Isn't worth the time trying to rewind an old pull start. I"m not very good at repairing those things and my temper is short so I usually just end up buying one. Although I've only had to do it twice.
