if by factory settings you mean the "break in settings " then you are very rich and should tune for power following associateds intsructions if you dont have a manual check their web site

Factory settings are just a starting point and they are meant to run the engine rich when it is on the first few tanks. You will have to lean out the carb slowly.

well when you took the carb apart did any pieces just fly out? that could be your problem there. but if it was that problem it would run lean which means no fuel spitting.
i say go in on your low needle 1/4 a turn and see if the idle spits same or less fuel.
if that didnt work go back on the low out 1/4 and go in on the high 1/4 turn if that didnt work go back to old settings
then try both needle in on both 1/4 a turn

ok well i tried all the sugestions people gave me and now the truck wont start at all.. there is fuel spitting out every where...the pull start..out put shaft... I checked all the seals and they seem to look good.
I think its about time for a new motor. any sugestions? I was looking at one called .46 big block or some thing. will that one bolt right up or no? I need some help finding a new motor im new at this and dont know what would work or not.

It's the 4.6. It should bolt right in without any trouble. You may also be able to bolt an 8.0 in too, but that may require a couple of small changes. Go to the AE site and you'll be able to find out what engines will bolt right in without any modifications.

well, it sounds like you just need to seal the engine... you can get stuff to seal it at your hobby shop, or go to an auto parts store and get high temp rtv sealant... seal around the backplate (take off the pullstart first) and around the carb....

yea i already did that i took off the starter plate and used high temp copper rtv but im done with this motor it gave me nothing but problems... will the 4.6 make it alot faster? how about the 3.3 or 8.0 what would you suggest. i want some thing thats fast but not too insanely fast that i wont be ablw to controll it... what are the reviews on these motors
