Default battery question

hey, just wanted to get some insight on something, would an EnerG4600 matched 11 cell nimh pack be compareable to a 3 cell lipo in terms of power ? i was thinking of one of them for my slash. i have a mm/vxl combo in it geared to 16p and 86 spur.

thanks.Peter

an 11 cell nimh would be 13.2v nominal, that's 2 volts higher than a 3S lipo. You should outperform a similar capacity lipo.

I agree, 11 should outdo 3S.

hint: a 10 cell flat pack will fit in nicely if chasis is modded slightly.

thanks guys, i guess i should of said what 3 cell lipo i was refering too, it is a 3cell limn apogee 3800mah battery. i only asked since the amperage from that battery is 76 compared to the EnerG4600 matched being 40-50amp continuous with 100+ amp bursts.

the vxl motor specs show 65amps continuous with 100amp peak, the 3 cell lipo should also have a peak rating. voltage is what drives the rpms but amps is what powers it so a lower amp pack may have trouble supplying the required power and get hot.
