Default Would this fit me? =D

Hi, i was gonna order a new body, and i've been looking around alot, and i found one nice at Speectech's site,
was thinking the Yokomo Veilside RX-7 Body Set (w/decals) 200mm .

now the question.
Would u think it would fit on a Kyosho PT GP Alpha 4WD?

this is my car's data :
PureTen ALPHA GP 4WD Technical Data
Length 370mm
Width 200mm
Height 95mm
Wheelebase 260mm
Track(F/R) 170mm
Tyres Size(F/R) 70 x 27mm
Total Weight approx. 1670g
Engine(not incle.) GX-12CRG

please tell me, it might not be so expensive but it's a long way order and it'll be expensive since i live so far away.

/thx a bunch :stupid:

Your car uses 200mm. The body you referenced is a 200mm. You can yse any body that is 200mm.

You said your car is 370MM in length, with a 200MM wheelbase.....NO the 200MM body will not fit. If your car has a 370MM length, what scale was the car sold as? 1/10 scale is 200MM, 1/8scale is 300MM, are you sure your car is 370MM?

Is the attached pic the car you have? If so, that is a 1/10th scale and uses 200mm body.

If the pic is not your car, going with the spec you posted looks like it is the SuperTen (not PureTen). SuperTen uses either a 280mm or 300mm body and can share a body with the HPI SuperNitro.

the body WILL fit, since your car is a nitro frm kyosho, the 200 mm body WILL fit, you stated your width is 196, and the body is 200mm in width, so it WILL fit, if the body width is 200mm then it's 1/10th scale, and if your car is a 1/10th scale it WILL fit

How in the HECK is a body thats 200MM long going to fit a car thats 260MM wheelbase?!?!?!!?!?!?! and 450MM long?!?!?!?!?!

200MM&300MM isnt a measurement to the width, I am sure of that. The 200-300MM measurement is the wheelbase...

Your right if his car is a 1/10, it will fit a 200MM....If his car is 450MM, long, it sure as heck isnt a 1/10th scale!

Kyosho, to my knowledge have 1/10th, 1/8th, and SuperTen (1/9 ?) in their current nitro line up. If his car is one which I posted above, it is the 1/10th version.

Here is the HPI RS4-3 specs from Tower Hobbies:
SPECS: Vehicle-
Length: 16" (406mm)
Width: 7-3/4" (197mm)
Weight: 3.2 lbs (1470g) approx.
Wheelbase: 10-1/8" (257mm) measured at axle center

Here is what he mentioned his car is:
length : 450mm(17.7")
Width : 196mm(7.7")
Height : 120mm(4.7")
wheelbase : 260mm(10.2")

Going with what the RS4-3 specs, it is close to foxy's car. IS HPI RS4-3 a 1/10th scale using 200mm body? Last time I checked, it is.

Its possible his measurements arent right though....I have had 1/8 models but they were a 300MM Wheelbase. I just know how expensive these bodys can be and having to send back the wrong size would suck.

I am stummped by the 260MM wheelbase, because 1/8th scale is 300MM WHEELBASE on my Tamiya TGR and all the Serpent 1/8 also....And the overall length with a body on it (the 1/8 300MM wheelbase) is almost 20" in length.

I have had 1/10 scale which were 200MM and 235MM wheelbases respectively. So if the 260MM wheelbase # is correct, the 200MM body will be off by 60MM!

Foxy are you sure about that 260MM wheelbase? Could it be 200MM or maybe 300MM?

ive just measured 1 of my 1/10th 200mm body shells and am petty sure that the 200mm is the width of it not the lenth or the wheel base

so this shell should fit ur car

also to back up this nitro cars are about 1cm wider than elec
thats why nitros use 200mm and the elecs use 190mm

My tamiya TGR is a 8th scale and it uses 300MM bodys. 300MM is 12 inches. I promise you my TGR is NOT 12 inches wide! So much for the 200MM being the width theory.

Since nobody seems to be forthcoming with the right numbers and we are all walking in huge ****ing circles, I just decided I dont give a **** if the 200MM body fits or not and I am unsubscribing from this retarted thread. Good luck.

Default 200mm

200mm is the width of the car or from front right wheel to the front left wheel. The spec comes from ROAR specs.
Electric Touring has a 190mm width.

Any car that is 1/10th scale 200mm will fit under any 200mm body.

There are 2 different measurement "standards". For 1/10 scale sedans, there are 190mm and 200mm bodies. This refers to the width of the car. Typically, most electric sedans use 190mm (width) bodies and nitro sedans use 200mm (width) bodies.

The super size cars (hpi super nitro rs4, kyosho super 10, and tamiya TGR) have 2 different wheelbases, 280 mm and 300 mm. For these vehicles, the body sizes refer to wheelbase.

However, these spec's i did read came from the box's description... and yes, it says PureTen on the box also... i doubt they put wrong car in wrong box heh..

Guess what?
I have the same car, (except with a skyline body)check out my gallery.
Kyosho Pureten Alpha (GP).
ALL 200MM bodies will fit. Don't know where that 450 measurement came from though
Have you changed out the engine in that sucker yet?
I've upgraded everything humanly possible in that car except for the engine, which definitely seems like a weak link. Have fun!!

Yeah I saw your car, real nice and clean!!
Well since stock this car really isn't anything special and parts are kinda tricky to find, until you figure something out.
If you look for Pureten Alpha parts you'll only find a few:
Ball Bearing Kit (definite must)
2 Speed (another must)
The shocks (yep, stock ones bite)
But for other parts, other Kyosho parts work on the Pureten.
CVD's for the MKII (I think that's what it's called)
Any decent pipe works fine.
Good Air Cleaner.
Better tires and rims of course.
The only things I haven't changed yet are the diffs, actual chassis, and the engine.
The engine really holds this car back, the design of everything is fairly decent. But the GX12 just has no pep.
Oh yeah, once you've upped the power, switch to the MP 7.5 brake set. My stock one lasted only one day after putting in the two speed.
Good luck finding what you want. I had a hell of a time since I couldn't find anyone with any experience with this particular car.

P.S: How's your tuning going? I find this engine the hardest to tune I've ever messed with. It just won't dial in right, and can never get it to idle for extended periods of time.

I hear ya!!
The only way I could keep my car running was by upping the idle speed by quite a bit. Which is fine with a better clutch in it, As far as engines go, any of the OS .12 's are a direct fit, while other engines will need a mounting bracket from what I can tell. I was thinking of just throwing a Nitro Star 12SS engine in there from HPI, should make quite a nice difference and very easy to tune.
The only way I could get the stock engine to run decent was to lean the hell out of it, and I wasn't very comfortable with the ultra high temps at that setting. That engine is horrible to tune, definitely do yourself a favor and try to find something. I just haven't got around to doing myself, too busy bashing my Savage!
