Default RE: Charger Question

Would I connect the 2 packs to a y connector then to the charger?

No. You cant charge nimh/nicad in parallel like you can lipo's. If you want to charge two packs at once, you need two chargers, or a charger with dual outputs... An MRC superbrain 977 could do two 9 cell packs at once.

You can do the 2 - 9 cell packs in series on any charger if the output voltage is ok for 18 cells.

ps the packs should "have required" the same amount of capacity.

You can charge them in series ONLY if the packs are identical and have been discharged in series, otherwise one pack could be damaged or even destroyed by being overcharged....

Like I said, the MRC superbrain 977 is a great dual output charger than can do 2 nimh packs (even if they are different capacity) at once. It could even charge a nimh and a lipo at the same time if you wanter.
