cen truggy
I was thinking about getting an inexpensive cen truggy for my son just for bashing around, but a friend of mine who admittedly is a couple years out of date says they are not durable and it's hard to get parts for them.
Any thoughts appreciated.

RE: cen truggy
go for the thunder tiger st-1 it will take all the beatings from a rookie and there is always parts for them. yes it is very hard to find parts for the cen truggy. the cen truggy is also much more expensive then the thunder tiger st-1 the tiger is about 230.

RE: cen truggy
The price is hands down cheaper for the thunder tiger if it's 230 dollars, I've seen the NX3.0 for about 270. Is really not hard to get parts for them, the only reason is because the hobby shops don't want to stock them, you end up ordering them and waiting on parts. As far as durability, most of the times are just because of operator error, if you read the instructions and set everything the way it is supposed to be, it works fine and is a blast. I have 3 cen RC's, a CT5, a GSR and a MG16. That MG16 can take a beating.

The Thunder Tiger looks great but it's closer to 300 bucks don't think I can go that high but the little mg16 looks good are parts easy to get? I'm looking for something in that 200 bucks price range that would be good for weekend school grounds bashing around for my 12 year old. I've got an 1/8 scale ofna buggy that has been incredibly durable but it was over 400 bucks.
Thanks

There's some other forums here that show how they customize the little MG16. I paid 190 dollars for mine, and all I do is play around with it, is not big on air but is fun to drive. I've been reading some people gets a little problem with their radio, just when you get whatever car make sure that you check all the connections on the electronics and that all the screws are tight. As far as the parts is a universal 1/10 scale taker, but you wont be breaking anything anytime soon. I've had the truck for 6 months and the only thing I've broken is the shock, just one.

I stopped at Hobbypeeps and they carry XTM and all the parts. They have an X-terminator 2 race edition I think it's called on sale for 250 it's a little past my budget but I'm thinking it's a good compromise.

Ebay has the Associated MGt 3.0 for 200 shipped. You cant beat that anywhere and its a tough and fast truck. Better than anything else at 200 or even 250.

RE: cen truggy
Well I bought the xtm 1/8 buggy race version partly because of parts availability not to mention I was tired of looking and didn't want to wait for delivery. I'm actually quite pleased with it - aluminum shock towers and bracing is a couple nice features. Course all I've done is break in the motor then run it around the school grounds for one tank. We would have done more but someone (me) didn't tighten one of the wheels enough and it came off losing the nut in the process. Plus the gas tank on my ofna hisses when I try to prime the carb so it appears I need a new tank.
