I have a traxxas rustler vxl and a 3s 3300mah lipo battery, and I wanted to know if there is a way to make it go faster than 70mph? I want to do speed passes with it.

Can it handle a 4s lipo if not then you need an esc that can handle higher voltage lipos. You can also change gearing but you dont want to go too high otherwise everything will overheat.

no it is the vxl-3s, it only handles a 3s lipo(11.1v). Do you know of any other esc that can handle more volts?

I'd just say try a higher capacity lipo. If you're 3300mah battery is a 20C lipo then it will only put out 66amps. The VXL motor has a rating for 100amps. A 5000mah 20C battery is about perfect for it.

so? it's still only 82.5amps, a 5000mah 20C would put out more amps. A 5000mah 25C would put out 125amps.



I'm talking about an ESC, it will easiliy control the VXL motor. Whether you fry the motor on 4s or not I don't know.

Get a better LiPo, as it is with only 3300mAh @ 25C you wont be hitting 70.

I would also agree with the lipo thing you would want atleast a 5000mah 20c lipo.. You can play around with it, But you need atleast 100amps.. You can always go with a 4s lipo and run a Mamba max.. If you decide to run the mamba max just make sure you disable the BEC and run a battery pack or an external BEC

Bottom line, a bigger better lipo will help with the esc you have but the motor will only turn so many rpm on 11.1v. If you want more rpm then you'll need to go to something that can handle higher voltage.
Of course that will mean needing a bigger, better lipo too
