Default NEWBIE REALLY NEEDS HELP ASAP PLEASE!!!

I am just starting this hobby and I need to install a new esc that I have in my EAMBA XR-1 1:10 SCALE 4WD ELECTRIC POWERED RADIO CONTROLLED TRUGGY.
The new part that I have is the Himoto 03018.

I have the red to the red side of the battery and the black to the black side of the battery as far as the battery connections are concerned. Then I have black, white and red wire with a plug on it, plugged into channel 2. The red light on the esc comes on and when I turn on the remote I can steer the wheels left and right but no power from the motor.
I am using the 4200 MAH batteries.

Anyone who can help me thank you soooo much!!

try switching the servo/esc plugs around and see if the steering makes the esc work and the throttle trigger makes the servo work

like i said in my earlier post "try switching the servo/esc plugs around and see if the steering makes the esc work and the throttle trigger makes the servo work"

if it doesnt work with the steering then the esc is no good, if the trigger doent work the steering then either the transmitter or reciever is no good.

seriously man, listen to what that guy is saying, switching the plugs on the receiver (the black case), and see what happens.

(FYI, the battery plug on the receiver is only used on nitro powered cars.)

did you have the motor plugged into the esc? If not, plug it in. If you did and the motor does not work but the lights come on and the steering worked then the esc is most likely no good.
