Default Beginner!

I am looking for a new kit maybe a buggy or monster truck. I have a budget of around £350 and want the kit to be supplied with an engine and half decent radio gear. I am not complete noob as i have had a hot bodies lightning 10 truggy but it wasnt fast enough. I would like at least a .21 engine and easily replaceable parts/mods available. Can anybody point me in the right direction- i ahev my heart set on a hobao hyper 7 or maybe a hpi savage x 4.6 big block.

Thanks, Brad

Their aren't too many kits I can think of right off hand that come with engines and/or radios. Usually, only RTR's come with that stuff.

Their you go. I would expect a kit without a motor and radio to easily be had for well under ~$375. I don't know what the Savage kit costs, but it should be less than you're max.

He means pounds not dollars, both the hyper 7 and the savage are great i have a hyper7 and cant fault it, definate good value for money, i dont have a savage but its one of the most popular monster trucks out there.

Yeah, I know he means pounds not dollars. If I thought he meant dollars wouldn't I have posted the same numerical figure in dollars?[&:] I just did the quickest math I could to get a somewhat close figure, because I don't know where the pound(english money, not the symbol) is on my keyboard(plus I don't know the exact current exchange rate). Haven't lived in a British territory in about 14 years, sorry.

Excellent choice, I was going to say you'll have more fun with a buggy than a monster truck. The Hyper 7 was my first big block nitro as well (wow seems a long time ago), and still holds it's own on the track with models twice the price and half the age. Of course the best option would be a truggy, the best of both worlds.

The radio gear with the Hyper will be utter rubbish, you need to replace the servos pretty urgently. Go easy on the break in of the engine and it'll last you a long time. Good luck.

Did you consider this truggy at all, almost in budget... http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/HBM7-ST.html
