How do I know if an engine is no good?
I have a hyper 7 that I got used from this site and the darn thing still bogs down bad. I can lean it all the way out and it will run good but hot. If I bring it down to the right temperature, it loses all of its power and bogs down.
Someone told me I needed a new engine or to rebuild.
Also someone told me that the bogging down could be from my differentials needing a rebuild. That they could be causing the undue friction and stress on the motor.
Anyone with some ideas would be appreciated.

Could be just your carb. I think if your engine internals were damaged it wouldn't run correctly at any temperature or carb setting.
Take your carb apart and inspect/clean it...maybe it's something obvious.
It also wouldn't hurt to clean/inspect your diffs but it's not likely that is causing the problem.

I would look for bad fuel lines and seal the engine if it has the RTR engine, they are usually not put together by the most competent people. Seal it and does it have compression?
