Default Rc10gt Problem...

Hey.. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and maybe could help me out. I have a Rc10gt, and I keep getting tiny pebbles stuck under my spur gear. When this happens, the car locks up, even when I have the body on, pebbles still find a way in. How can I stop this from happening??

This is what happens:

I think that the tiny pebbles may be getting inside through the holes in the chassis or if there is a gap between the body and chassis the front wheels may throw the pebbles in that way, my spur gear has a cover on it to keep rocks from getting stuck in it.

Yeah, I know how they are getting in. I doubt an RC10GT can have a gear cover as there is barely any room under the spur gear.

No fix for that its a known problem. That happens to me every and awhile I just replace the spur for a couple bucks and forget about it. Happens at least once a month for me.

This happens every 3 minutes of driving for me.. Buying a new spur wouldn't do anything.

I dont know what to tell you man. Maybe your arms arent in all the way and its too close to the spur.

I'm just to the point that I want to sell it.. It's driving me crazy. What good is a car that you can barely run for 3 minutes?

That's not really an option as I don't want to turn it into a only on-road car just because of pebbles. Everywhere I could drive off-road would have pebbles. I think i'll just put it on ebay.

just a thought, maybe go down a couple of teeth on spur gear to give you more room.or shim the tranny to raise it up some to give you more room.

just a thought u could mill out a slot under the gear and wide enough so it doesnt jam a pebbles anymore and if they do flick up in to the chassis them atleast u know that they will fall bak down the slot u made instead of jamming up and damaging the gear. just wondering that because it is so close to the arms that u might loose some strength on the chassis anyone else have an opinion!!

This might be far fetched but what about putting some good ole duct tape over the hole under the flywheel?

I don't think they are coming from under the flywheel but thanks for the tips.

My recommendation is to get a 60-62 tooth spur gear.

It will reduce acceleration slightly, but improve top end.

I was thinking about that, but how would I get it to stay down?

if it is a thick enough piece, you could screw it on from the bottom
