HEY I ALWAYS WONDERED THIS SO I DECIDED TO POST A THREAD! I GOT AN RS42 AND IT SAID THEY GO LIKE 50MPH STOCK. IT DIDNT LOOK LIKE THAT TO ME. I PUT ON A 2 SPEED TRANNY AND THAT MADE IT MUCH FASTER BUT IT STILL ONLY LOOKS LIKE IT GOES ABOUT 60MPH. DO CARS CAR FASTER THAN THEY LOOK OR IS HPI LYING????? I WAS ABOUT TO JUMP IN THE CAR AND CLOCK IT BUT THEN I REALIZED, WOULD I TRUST MY BRO WITH A $300 CAR??? NO WAY!!!!!! POST UR OPINION!

depends on what motor you are using,rs42 if that has the 15fe no offense but 50 no way, before I switched my sx12 nova mega in my serpent to the sx 12re turbo I did circles around my buddies rs4ss. and my serpent was probaly close to 60mph. we put my sx12 side exaust in his rs4, wow it flies, just as fast as my impulse pro. however he keeps stripping gears and the motor mounts keep coming loose w/lock tite.

the cars do go faster then they look. i got a rs4 3 and it is supposed to go around 50 stick. i didnt think so, looked about 40-45. i went a nd clocked it and it was actually going 53 mph! i have not put any performance parts in my car at all to make it go faster. just changed the suspension and put a fail safe in. oh, and one other thing. if you cut the rear bumper out of the car it should go considerably faster. what happens is air gets caught there and slows the car down. that is actually the only performance modification i have made.

what method did you use to clock it.

no, by rear bumper i mean on the body. there is the top 2 sides front and rear. you cut out the rear of the body

If you want speed slap on a NOVA .21 turbo on your RS4 2, with one gear for top end speed. Were doing about 80-85 miles and hour.

The owner of the hobby shop where we go has a racer going 107 MPH. Its insane.
But were talking about wasting money engine is about $500 motor mounts alone $80, But if you want speed that what you gotta do.

One phrase OS cv.18 egine...no more speed needed i believe....in order to keep RS4 a balanced car.

Or if you want to over power it with out the hassle of modifying for a big block get the OS 18 TZ. I agree the CV-R is better suited and has plenty of power.
