Default External failsafe -help!

What about these external failsafe units, I've heard that they aren't worth it, that they don't work well. Is this true? Possible alternatives?

my failsafe was screwed up because I had it wired wrong, but now it works good. they are required at our track to race.

Default External failsafe -help!

some of the pcm radios have one built into the receiver. futaba 3pk has the built in failsafe and some others.

i too wouldnt run a car with out one. if you dont think they work have someone with one pick up his car and hit the gas and shut off the remote(simulate signal loss) and watch what happens.
it will return the throttle to a full brake

a fail safe is the best thing you can do to your car. puttin faster things in will just make repairs cost more when batteries die.

Whats the only way your car is going to shoot off by itself? If the RX pack is low?

The fail safe will kick in if you go out of range - batteries low - mixed signals from another radio. Not sure what else.
