I have a t-maxx 2.5 and was wondering how much faster i'd be going with a cvec pipe( dual outlet). I heard it was good but I could not find how much faster i would be going.

It probably wont go any faster, but will probably run better, and stronger.

I have had the CVEC Rear exhaust for the 2.5 Maxx. I would say there was a small increase in the bottom end, and much smoother transition through all the RPM's. The only problem I encountered with it was when I jumped. If I landed on my rear end, which I did a lot since I was new at this, the force from the pipe hitting the ground would get transfered to the engine. This would cause me to break engine mounts. I broke 2 of them in a 1 week period. I ended up ditching the CVEC pipe, getting a heavier duty engine mount, and putting the stock pipe back on.

If you want I will sell you my old one. It's not the prettiest pipe out there, but it seals fine, and structurally is in good condition. Let me know.....

thanks for telling me I was about to buy one but what elese can I upgrade on my 2.5 to make it go faster. I probally won't be buying it from you and not even at all.I heard itis one of the best on the market for speed. but I want more speed. what should I do(without replacing the actual engine)

A new pipe is not going to give you more speed. The reason being is that your engine can only reach a certain number of RPMs. A pipe may make it go a little higher, but not enough to make a huge difference in speed.. If you want a good pipe, check out the Ritter pipe. It gives you a lot more torque, and a bit more higher end.

About the only way to get more speed out of your truck is to change the gearing. This will make your acceleration slower, but give you a little be higher top speed. I am not sure what gearing you would want to go with, maybe someone else can answer that one.

Why are you wanting to make your truck go faster? Is 40mph not fast enough? Just asking is all .......

Yea, just use a bigger clutchnut and (or) a smaller spur gear for more speed. Just a couple of teeth bigger though because it makes a difference. Like Dlock said, you either pick with the gearing...either low speed and high torq or high speed and low torq.
