the only LHS is about 20-30 minutes away and you call them before and tell them exactly what part you need and once you get there they give you the wrong part? I just needed a backplate and gears for an HPI Roto Start and assured me that with the one-way bearing I purchased from them that the kit would work. Since I had a long day and just wanted to get home, I took their word for it. Obviously, when I tried to install it, the one way didn't fit into the gear and the part was useless. Now I have to go back to the shop tomorrow and do an exchange for the right part. *sigh*

I do take responsibility for not checking it while I was there since I brought the car and engine with me but damn, they should have offered to open up the part and test it for me.

Even worse is when you give them the exact part number, they say they have it, and when you get there it's the wrong part number. Needed a new main chassis for my revo, and gave them the part number because I have the original 2.5(with original chassis), and the one they had was the extended 2.5 one(which I don't want).

Instead of laying the onus of what's right on them, and the guy behind the counter that's probably getting paid minimum wage and surely doesn't know every part on every car on the market, how about next time getting out your manual or Internet and looking up the specific number yourself and TELLINGthem what part#'sYOU need. </p>

As I said, I take responsibility but I think it should have went both ways. I own a business and I don't rely on the consumer to tell me exactly what they want/need. Lesson learned for me though.

The closest hobby shop to me used to have fuel at resonable prices, and although he doesent carry many nitro parts, he did have fuel and simple things i needed usually.

I hadnt bought fuel in about 6 months, and I just got my savage back up and was going to run some and needed fuel. I tried calling them, and their # is disconnected? So, since it is about 8-10 minutes from where i was headed anyways, I stopped by to pick up some fuel if they were still open. So i stopped in, and they dont even carry fuel anymore! The guy working said he thought they had 1 more gallon somewhere, so he looked for about 30 seconds and said well, I guess we dont have any. He said they were trying to get away from it. And im assuming he just meant nitro stuff in general because the only thing they do is race a dirt oval with electric trucks indoor, and those are the only things he keeps parts for, so im done with them. There is one in the area I havent tried out yet and they actually have a nice online store, and it seems like they stock lots of parts so i need to drop by. But the hobbytown usa close by(30 minutes) is pretty much a joke too. They always have fuel and stuff, but it is pretty high, and they never have anyone knowledgeable behind the counter anymore. It really is a 15 minute ordeal to get a spur gear because of how bad the people working there are, so id rather just order my parts online if they cant do better than that.

So it looks like im down to 1 more hobby shop in the area that will hopefully be a good one(their website looks promising), and they are about 20 minutes away, so I will be trying them out soon.

Anyways, sorry for the rant, but i feel your pain. It really shouldnt be this hard to get what you need, and if local businesses want to keep business they need to have knowledgeable workers above all else....
