Hey, Adam. Yes, it comes with a lipo. 7.4 3300 as Eddie said. 25C hard case. It also comes with a 2.4GHz transmitter! I also ordered a couple of Turnigy 5000 mAh 2S 30C hard case packs as you suggested.

I can't wait to get it on the road. But I have a bunch going on this week. And I want to take the time to go over it completely checking screws, applying loctite, setting it all up and such before I run it.

Well, I finally had a chance to go over everything and run the buggy. Everything looked good and was ready to run out of the box. All I really needed to do was check the mesh (which was good from the factory) and loctite the engine mount screws.
It really runs great, is quick and handles well. Speed and power-wise, it is somewhere between the MXB (with an 18) and the RXT (with the 6 port sleeve in a 28). I would say it is the best of the three as far as handling. Really really fun to drive.
It is definitely less hassle than the nitros. I miss the noise (although the neighbors don't) and smell, but I sure don't miss the time spent tuning. And it is nice to have a clean vehicle after running instead of spending a bunch of time cleaning up the nitro mess. Unfortunately, you obviously have to stop when your packs are dead. But I am waiting for a couple Turnigy 5000 mAh packs, and that should help that.

Now a couple of questions.
Next to the on/off switch, there is a little rectangular red button. What is that?
On the receiver, there is a hole with a button inside labeled "F/S SET." Is that to set the fail safe position? Do you hold the throttle and steering where you want on the transmitter and push that button to set it?
On the receiver, there is another hole with a button inside labeled "SW." What is that?
Another observation - Adam, was it you that suggested "knurling" the inside face of the wheel nuts on the RXB/RXT to keep them from coming loose? The wheel nuts on the Vega come that way.
Thanks,
Bryan

The red button is the bind button, you keep that pressed and you put the car's power on, then you apply the brake (for nitro) or leave in neutral for electric, put the power on the tranmitter and press the sw button on, that binds the radio's and sets the failsafe to brake.

Thanks.
If I want to add a cooling fan to the motor, I can use the cooling fins that came with the buggy. Do I plug into the extra femal plug coming out of the ESC?
If I go to a 3S 11.1V lipo, do I need to do anything other than plug it in?

OK - I am guessing this is a simple issue for the electric folks, but for a nitro guy like me, it makes no sense.
When I power up, I have steering and reverse, but no forward. I switched the plugs to change the steering and throttle channels. Same deal.
I put new batteries in the transmitter to be sure I was not getting a failsafe issue. Same deal.
I checked the lipo voltage - good - 8.3V.
I repeaked the lipo. Same deal.
Ideas????

bk,
I have the same issue. No forwards. But if I turn off the transmitter and listen for the ESC to beep a few times and stop, then turn the tramsmitter back on it will then pick it up. Once I followed the bind process it works good now. I never bound it from the factory, it just worked right out of the box, till it went goofy.

I am looking for the ZTW Software, and the appropriate connections so Ican change the settings. If anyone comes across any info post it here. During reading it says that the ZTWESC is compatible with a Novak motor. So IDK if other cards and mini USB connectors are interchangable.
CHECK THIS OUT: Be sure to blow up the image.

Yay! I ran through the binding procedure with the transmitter/receiver then the throttle calibration on the ESC, and it is all good now!

RE: ***OFFICIAL VEGA8 XB 1/8 BRUSHLESS BUGGY THREAD***
Got deans connectors soldered on my Turnigy 5000mAh lipos today. Between the stock battery and the 2 Turnigys, I can run about 30 minutes. This week, I hope to get or make a wiring connector so I can connect the 2 Turnigys in series for 14.8V. After seeing Joacim's video, I am looking forward to trying the higher voltage.
