Default What is this part called?

Hi

i have a 1/10 HSP buggy, well i went to get shock replacments. i got a ser of traxxas shocks, they fit fine, but they dont use a ball at the top like HSP cars. they use just a hinge, not a ball like mine.

so for now i have used a long screw, with a couple nuts and washers + the shock bushing.

i need to know what its called i need. it holds the bushings which i threaded onto a screw for now.

what it was before is the equivlent of this, not these exact ones but close:

and i need the name of what these attach to and to the body using:

http://c0456141.cdn.cloudfiles.racks...a/tra3767a.jpg

it holds the bushing out a little bit, and secures it to the car somehow.

Its called a shock bushing. You would need to order two of these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJG96&P=7

You only want the two top things, the rest can go into your parts bin.

I have those, what i need is what attaches them to the frame.

like i said, i just have it threaded on a long screw for now. i doubt it will stand up to much abuse before the screw snaps.

basically the part i need holds the bushing 1/4" inch out and secures it to the shock plate with all the different locations. This isnt susposed to fit my car, but i doubt its much different? if someone can show me a traxxas buggy that uses the ~3" shocks the size of a dime round, i might be able to figure it out.

shocks are expensive, im suprised. it was like 28$ for 2 shocks. i got lots of oil left over and fixed the rear ones, which needed more oil. and being a newbie i now know i had the pieces before hand to make the shocks stiffer without the 28$ spent to realise it.

from 1 inch drop to bottom out, to a foot for the front new ones and 6 inches for the rear.

Yeah... I have no idea what you are talking about. Most shocks are mounted up top with an inch long allen screw that runs all the way through the shock tower, with a locknut and washer holding the shock on. Here are some longer bushings if it helps http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJK26&P=7

The allen screw and locknut is just what it says, an allen screw and locknut. You just have to figure out what size screw and nut you need and you will be able to buy screws from any hobby shop. My 1/8 buggy uses 3x25 mm screws and these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...531+&search=Go .

Sounds like you already have the bushings so you only need the scews and locknuts.

3mm locknuts http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFUR3&P=7

Maybe this helps? You should have everything you need... This is how 99% of rc cars are designed.
