hi guys im picking up a stampede xl-1 with minimal use that comes with 7 nimh batteries a charger and 12 different tires and wheels. all i need is a radio and a body i have a radio. is there anything i should expect? any weak points? How slow is the xl-1/stinger combo i have an xl-5 esc to put in it if that would help at all.I heard stampedes are a lot of fun and for 30 bucks for all this i dont think you can beat it. thanks!

yeah im picking it up this weekend. what kind of mods would i have to do to put an ezrun 8.5t 60a combo in it? could i put a vxl tranny and slipper off ebay on to it?

yeah all the new stuff is directly compatible with the older xl1 they even have a black version of the new tranny mold

30 bucks you cant beet that just try it out before you go to into moding it strap on the xl5 and run the stinger around to see how ya like it then if you want get the ezrun and upgrade from there as fieroman stated all the new stampede and old stampede's are compatable so anything on a new 1 you can use on your older 1 just a few penny's worth of thought

My Stampede is a lot of fun. I've had transmission and gearing problems but they were easily corrected. On mine, at least, most of the weight is in the back so I can actually get it to drift around corners in my apartment parking lot. Also I haven't found many places that my Emaxx can get to but the Stampede can't.
