Default HPI Savage

I tried to start my HPI Savage yesterday after 5 years and i just wouldn't start. I already checked the glow plug and its good and I know gas is getting to the engine. What can I do?

Id start by cleaning the carb. After sitting so long, the carb is probably gummed up. You can take the air filter off and spray liberal amounts of wd40 directly into the carb while holding it wide open. Then open and close the throttle until the wd40 works into the carb. Repeat a few more times. It might be easier if you remove the carb from the motor and clean it.

personally I'd hose it down with brake and carb cleaner found at the auto store 1st. That stuff will dissolve any buildup than hose it down with WD-40 after.

Other question when you say it won't start does the flywheel turn?

Either the glow plug needs replacing, not enough fuel is getting in, or you need a new battery in your warmer. Those are the only 3 things I can think of if the flywheel turns when you try and start it.

Also make sure the carbs idle gap is set to 1mm.
