Have a stock E-Maxx, not looking to throw alot of money into it but what are some affordable upgrades for it that i should look into? Looking to get some more speed, and some more run time if thats possible, thing dies in like 15 min =(

First upgrade you should make is to go LiPo and ditch the stock NiMh packs. Get yourself a couple of pairs of 2S 5200 Turnigy packs, a charger, balancer, LVA and a go for it. This will increase the run time. I get 20+ mins on an E-Revo with a pair of Kershaw 700HO's so a stock E-Maxx should run 25+ mins.

Next I would swap out the stock titans for the Kershaw 650 or 700 setup. The 650's are a direct bolt in as the 700's require a new motor plate.

You could also get some 5000mah battery packs from cheapbatterypacks.com. That would help the runtime. For speed, i would go with ^^ those motors.

ALUMINUM....BULK HEADS.'Nuff said.[8D]
Snapped my maxx in half....TWICE.The bulks are known to be week, and they snapped both times.MY next upgrade definitely.Go for the titan 775, the one from the summit. You could run twins if you wanted, but ones usually enough.Get some turnigy lipos, OR get a matched set of 5000's from promatchracing.

For some of the battery packs it says "saddle jumper length".. and "end bars installed or uninstalled". What should i choose for those two options i am not sure what they mean (i am new to this lol).

Also you have to get a LVC(low voltage cutoff) if you get lipos-they WILLFRY the standard speed ESC!

Copy and paste lol

Ive run many a lipos in brushed all without issues. And actually, a 2s being fully charged at 8.4v is quite a bit less than the 9.6 or so volts for a 7 cell.Doing the math, the 2s has the less chance of doing ANY damage to the motor or esc.The evx can handle 16.8v,and 2s lipos are only 14.8v.I see no logical reason why lipos arent meant to be used on brushed esc's, some (as others have said) are made to be used with lipo, the esc on the strike being a prime example.Would be kinda dumb for losi to make the electronics to be blown up by products they push and recommend to use in their cars

."I would stick with NiMh batteries since you are into racing. Those will not blow up your electronics from too much voltage and they are meant for your particular setup"

Lipos are actually better for racing in most cases.Less voltage drop off and better discharge curvers/rates, make for more consistent power and more consistent racing. And as i said, 2s has as much risk of "Blowing up your electronics from too much voltage" as a 10 year old 1500mah 6 cell nicd. I dont see how electronics being rated for 10+ volts can be "Blown up" by something 2 volts lower than that.Unless its the titan.I can see that blowing up from being hooked up to 2 AA's.

one of the first things i would recommend is allum skid plates
and the older e maxx's were in dire need of a steering servo upgrade.
if yours is the newer one thats not neccesary.

This is NOT true. You do need a LVC or LVA but not to protect the ESC. 2S Lipo's will not hurt the stock ESC. The LVC or LVA is there to protect the LiPo batteries.
