Default thick grass

I am looking for an off road car or truck, electric or nitro, that can handle the thick St Augustine grass we have in Florida. Suggestions and recommendations are appreciated.
Thank you

I would imagine that pretty much any 4wd monster truck with a nice, high ground clearance would do just fine. I'll let others comment on specifics.

Budget bugdet budget. You want to spend $300 or $3000?The emaxx SEEMS to be good in grass, i wouldnt know too much about it.Mine snaps in half every other run. And i mean that literally, and no exaggeration. Theres the e savage, nitro savage, nitro maxx,revo,e-revo,pede,nitro pede,8ight-t,e-8ight-t.rc8t,slayer,slash.slash 4x4, lightning gt and gt10, theres quite a few options and quite a few price ranges. And as ^^ said, high clearance is good, 4x4 is good, but not necessary.

in the $600, max $1,000 price range. The more I read the more I am leaning to electric to start off.

Wow thats quite a bit.Id say savage flux.Get some 2-3s lipos, maybe both, and a charger from hk. Would be near $1k depending on what batteries and charger, near $800 at the lowest, near $1k at the upper end.Id suggest 2 2s lipos and 2 3s lipos, 3s for when you feel like beating the s[:@][&:][:'(] out of something.(Lol) 2s for general bashing and everyday running.Get an accucel 6, or 8, and charge both lipos at once.Maybe 2 6's for charging all 4 at once, only $20 each.

The roto start, the bump box, the glow plugs, the actual fuel, the spark, the ignition, the downstroke of the piston, the intake, the exhaust, the fuel coming in,the upstroke, the ignition, buying fuel, the fun of tuning.

The charging of batteries, the quiet noise, no piston, electrical fuel, the extra servos, no tuning, the non annoyed neighbors, the absence of smoke and sound,

By all means go electric [sm=teeth_smile.gif]

Look on the top right of the post and hit quote.

Or, type [ quote]:ORIGINAL (person your quotings name)

and at the end type [(slash) quote]

Quite simple, especially if you want to quote multiple posts, multiple people, or break up parts of a post and respond to them individually.

I am leaning towards ordering the E Savage Flux based on the above recomendations. Any "mandatory" spare parts I should consider. Also, I have two lipos in my cart, good choice? (ProTek R/C 2S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 40C Hard Case Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh) (ROAR Approved) $79.99 each

Thank you

Perfect!! What about a charger? Also, you might consider a Castle Link to PC program it.

Good Luck

Tires - Proline mulchers or badlands are the best for grass. They get ridiculous traction.

If you want to spend close to 1K, look at the Traxxas Summit converted to BRUSHLESS, by far it will take the grass the best if you put brushless in it, and, it's basically the BEST all-terrain basher out there. I would look into that, are you going to be jumping a lot?

The problem with the summit is that it is slow out of the box. Less than half the speed of the flux HP. You'd have to spend another ~$250 on a brushless setup just to get it competitive, and who knows what other drivetrain parts would need upgrading to handle it. You do get remote locking diffs for some crawling ability, but if you want to crawl, neither of these trucks is really the right choice. If you just want an all-around basher that's fast, tough and fun out of the box, the flux HP is the way to go.

I ordered early yesterday morning and paid for overnight shipping and $4 for expedited shipping. 24 hours later they send an email requesting a fax of my license, credit card and credit card bill. I was so ticked off at them I canceled and went to the hobby store and bought the brushless traxxas EREVO brushless system and 2 7.4v 5000 mah batteries. I hope that I didn't make a mistake with this model.?
