question about a header?
 
can a small crack or any crack in a header cause a car to run lean or hot?

i'm not sure about how it would make it run, but it can't be good. try some jb weld to fix it

Yes,very basically-less back pressure will result in a lean mixture leading to higher temps.

if you can just get a new one, but jb weld should work to patch it up
