RE: I need help

Yes - the car and the transmitter (controller) both take batteries. The car might have come with a small battery pack and charger (or it may take AA batteries), and the transmitter likely takes 8 AA batteries. There's going to be a power switch on the car and when it's on (and the transmitter is on) you should be able to turn the wheels on the car using the transmitter when the engine is not running.

Is it a new vehicle? You will need to break in engine if it is brand new as well.

Yes, inlike an ordinary car, it is unable to produce its own power to work the reciever or servos, you should find a little AA battery holder on the car somwhere, put 4 fully charged/ barnd new aa batterys into it. Then try and see if it works, then report back.

Ok! I got it fellas it ran great, and that damn thing is pretty fast, but I have one more question>1 can they drive backwards, and is there something I can do to keep it from running by it self when I turn it on, or do I just have to hold the brake all the time.

And thanks for everyone's help you guys has been very helpfull.

you have to tune the engine so that when then engine is idling and the car does not move.. use the idle needle on the engine to tune the idling rpm (read car manual throughly if you have one). if that is not done you can really wear down your clutch shoes as well as your break pads if you have them. my plastic clutch melted when i messed up in this department.

edit: here is a very nice guide and FAQ on how to maintain your engine.

be sure to read it, every beginner should know. it is VERY helpful

ouch, any idea how much throtle you gave it?. did it seem to be emitting a lot of smoke and even oil out of the exhaust? because the first few tanks are supposed to be with bairly any throtle if any atall. ( although some people dissagree, that is my method and i welcome anyone else to post theirs but please dont start a fight)
