I need help

I purchased a Exceed truck and I put the gas in it and when I turn it on it just runs faster and faster I have know control of the car, all the lights is working on the remote, but I can't turn the wheels or slow the car. Can someone tell me exactly what I'm doing wrong.

Yes - the car and the transmitter (controller) both take batteries. The car might have come with a small battery pack and charger (or it may take AA batteries), and the transmitter likely takes 8 AA batteries. There's going to be a power switch on the car and when it's on (and the transmitter is on) you should be able to turn the wheels on the car using the transmitter when the engine is not running.

Yes, inlike an ordinary car, it is unable to produce its own power to work the reciever or servos, you should find a little AA battery holder on the car somwhere, put 4 fully charged/ barnd new aa batterys into it. Then try and see if it works, then report back.

Ok! I got it fellas it ran great, and that damn thing is pretty fast, but I have one more question>1 can they drive backwards, and is there something I can do to keep it from running by it self when I turn it on, or do I just have to hold the brake all the time.

Well I ran it for awhile but with know major speed because I'm new to this, what should I do other than what I did?

you have to tune the engine so that when then engine is idling and the car does not move.. use the idle needle on the engine to tune the idling rpm (read car manual throughly if you have one). if that is not done you can really wear down your clutch shoes as well as your break pads if you have them. my plastic clutch melted when i messed up in this department.
