Plastic spurs make kittens cry
1 Attachment(s)
Fresh out of my Losi Desert Truck - slipper was loose too :(
Hopefully the kevlar one will hold up better, I think I have too much motor for this poor transmission EDIT: Always a good excuse to take a picture though [&:] |
RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
Gah just ate the Kevlar one too, but now I figured it out. This time the slipper was too loose, got too hot, melted a bit, and therefore the spur was able to go off center and THEN it stripped.

RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
Are you gapping your gears properly?
|
RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
Yeah, its not the mesh (this time at least [&:])
The plastic spur died because of too much motor and some nasty driving, and the kevlar due to a loose slipper that melted up and took the center of the gear out with it. When I get new parts for the slipper I'll run it with another kevlar gear but tighter. Ideally I'd find a steel gear for this thing but they don't seem to exist :/ |
RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
try a new pinion too with the new gear

RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
i chewed up 3 spurs in my vxl before i found the right slipper clutch setting.

RE: Plastic spurs make kittens cry
That's strange. I'm running a MM/Velineon system on a 3S lipo - I've had no trouble at all with the spur on my DT. I stripped my first spur because of a bad mesh, but the second one has been on for over a month with no problem. I've been running it hard on concrete and dirt - ffull throttle landings, wheelies, donuts. I've broken a few a-arms and bent a turnbuckle, but I haven't had any trouble with the spur.
