Guys well ive decided to make the Jump and run LiPos as reciever packs.
Was trying to charge it today, its a 7.4V pack, and the charger showed this [&:] No idea whats happening, im using a LiPo charger.? http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/P1010270.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/P1010271.jpg And this is the battery http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/P1010272.jpg Also, I picked up a " Step Down Regulator " , is that fine.? http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/P1010273.jpg They didnt have a 6V reg, so I setteled for a 5.1V for the time being.. Thanks |

RE: Guys, Is This Normal.?
It looks fine but it'll take a few hours at that rate. You can charge that battery at 1 amp to speed it up.

ORIGINAL: ozium It looks fine but it'll take a few hours at that rate. You can charge that battery at 1 amp to speed it up. And, yes, the reciever and servos will work fine on 5.1 volts, but will be faster/stronger if you can upgrade it to 6v. |
RE: Guys, Is This Normal.?
ORIGINAL: DaveG55 A 1050 mah battery will only take 2 hours to charge at a .5A charge rate, not a few hours. For that battery 1C would be slightly over 1A and will charge it in 1 hour, instead of 2. Thanks Capt Obvious! (just kidding lol). Yes, 2 hours...is a few hours.[sm=bananahead.gif] And yes, 1 hour is less than 2 hours, which is why I said the battery will charge faster at 1amp. You didn't have to clarify that for me, thanks. And I don't know of any chargers that will let you charge at 1.05 amps, which is why I said 1amp. |
RE: Guys, Is This Normal.?
common usage of the word few usually means 3 or more
when most people mean 2 they say a "couple" |
RE: Guys, Is This Normal.?
Yes, in the dictionary it states a few as meaning 3-5 and a couple meaning 2.
|
RE: Guys, Is This Normal.?
I agree 3-5 is a few. 2 is a couple. 3 is company.

Good Lipo chargers use the CC/CV method. Constant Current/Constant Voltage
If the charger is set at 1C, and yes, some can charge at 1.05amps, then it will start at 1C. That's the CC portion of the charge cycle Once the voltage of the pack reaches 8.4v (for a 2S pack, or 3.7v per cell), amperage will start dropping to avoid going over that voltage. This is the CV portion. Once amperage reaches 0, or something close to it, then the pack is considered charged. |
