RE: dual engine nitro
Wow that Schumacher is really cool.

RE: dual engine nitro
that thing looks sweet, i was reading it has problems with the belt drive system though, i like how it's more of a two cylinder then a dual engine
|
RE: dual engine nitro
a local did a savage xxl with .28 twins but went for one motor on the front diff and one on the rear using jackshaft style 3.0:1 reduction boxes with monster kongs for snow bashing

RE: dual engine nitro
better yet just click on my gallery its pics are there

RE: dual engine nitro
Not bad at all. If it were mine I would run matching engines just to ensure the powerbands line up, but nice job. I want to see it run!

RE: dual engine nitro

Electric is like that I dont know about nitro.[&o] Oh and to answer your next question try www.photobucket.com and start you a free account and copy your photo to this website. This website has been on the fritz latley and everyone else here has been using it. |
RE: dual engine nitro

|
RE: dual engine nitro
i may need assistance in posting a video on youtube if anyone knows how
|
RE: dual engine nitro
ORIGINAL: ElectricGuy007 Im not a huge fan of nitro but i have to say your project turned out better than expected. I noticed the two engines are different, I figured they would need to be exactly the same, or youd risk over heating one of them. Electric is like that I dont know about nitro.[&o] Ideally I'd lock the cranks together with a chain or something. If one wants to flame out the other one will force it to keep turning, and the vehicle won't get shaken to pieces as quickly. |
RE: dual engine nitro

RE: dual engine nitro

RE: dual engine nitro
How do you start that thing? Can you start 1 engine at a time or do you have to start them simultaneously?
|
RE: dual engine nitro
Most likely one at a time.

RE: dual engine nitro
ok so im 3 tanks in to the break in process and am starting to have a problem. any advice would be appreciated the motor on the right runs good with good smoke trail the motor on the left has thicker smoke trail and gets much hotter than the other one. on another note the right motor cuts out sometimes thanks in advance
|
RE: dual engine nitro
Left engine: Thicker smoke trail AND hotter? Well...that's a new one to me. I'd guesstimate either bad fuel, an exhaust leak somewhere(This would cause piss-poor fuel pressure in that engine's tank, which would cause it to run funny), a pinhole leak in the fuel line, cracked tank or perhaps an air leak on the engine itself.
Right engine: Check the plug and make sure that is good. Break in is notorious for munching plugs, and usually when an engine cuts out and it's not an air or fuel issue it's a bad plug. Could also be bad fuel, I'm assuming you're running the same stuff through both engines. |
RE: dual engine nitro
yes im running same fuel through both engines and its a brand new gallon of fuel i bought 2 days ago i have presure and fuel lines split off the one tank i dont think presure is a problem same with fuel lines and both plugs are new, in my gallery of photos there is this mammoth with 2 silver heads it was set up slightly different but i never had this problem and yeah as far as the left engine getting hotter i to am stumped ive checked lsn and hsn settings and idle screw settings both are the same. ill check for an exhaust leak
