I had problems with my smartemp causing glitching with my Hitec system before I installed the Spektrum system. The car would almonst beahve as if it was kicking into failsafe on and off. No problems with the Spektrum installed though.

I have a JR XS3 radio and my smart temp interfered with the radio every second on the second when on the fringes of range. I am sending mine back to see if I can get a fixed one. I did manage to block out most of the interference of the first unit by wrapping the Smart Temps servo lead in a ferrite. That got rid of 90% of the glitches. We will see if the replacement unit is any better.
To test and see if you get any glitches, collapse your tx antenna, take the car in hand and walk away from your tx. As you get about 15', your steering servo will pulse every second. Unplug the Failsafe and you will see the pulsing stop.

Just received my replacement SmartTemp and still have the same problem. Sounds like bad design. They should do better at filtering out the interference that they create.
Not sure what to do. I am not sure if they will refund me or not. I will post my results.

Fix for SmartTemp interference:
Ebay link

auction number: 7545650668
Loop servo lead thru the ferrite as many times as the lead allows.

THis solves over 90% of the interference issues for small money.
Take care. Scot
