Default Hyper Glitching

Got my first Hyper vie ebay, but on starting it all the servos glitch. I notice that there no springs on the throttle and brake, as I have no manual I can't confirm whether there should be or not.

1. What might be causing the glitching?

2. Where can I get a manual for the Hyper 7 PBS, and a manual for the 21 8port engine?

Thanks

Bill

With ref to the above post.

I have found that the aerial length on the Hyper 7 Rx is only 45cm in length, and if I power up the radio and tap the cylinder head with a metal screwdriver, both servos glitch badly.

I replaced the Rx with one out of my Savage (both Hyper and Savage on 27MHz) which has a 95 cm aerial, and tap the cylinder head with same screwdriver and no glitching.

Did a quick test with a 35MHz Rx, also with a 95cm aerial, no glitching.

Is the problem aerial length or the Hyper Rx? I suspect aerial length.

Cheers

Bill.

95cm? That's awefully long isn't it? Almost a metre.
Check your car for anything loose that may cause metal to metal contact while the engine is running. (From your post it sounds as if it is only glitching when the car's running) Anything like this can cause terrible glitching, as you can see with the screwdriver to the head. I noticed the same thing with my evader's stock radio.

The longer antenna may make the rx less prone to glitching. You could try a range test with all the receivers. Get a buddy, and have him hold the car (not running) and start walking. See how far you can get before the radio stops responding correctly. If you can't get very far, then there may be something wrong with the receivers.

I have checked other Rx's that I have, and except for the base loaded ones, they are all around the 90cm length.

The glitching takes place also when the engine is not running, and I tap the car any where with anything, all metal to metal connections have been checked.

All suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Manuals for the engine and the Hyper7 can be found at http://www.ofna.com/manuals.html

Maybe it's just the rx that is faulty?

It was either the Rx or the aerial, because when I swapped the Rx for the one in my Savage, it went really great, no glitching whatsoever.
Cheers for the link.

Thanks

Sounds like a flaky Rx. Wiggle the connections and crystal while it is on, maybe you can figure out what is wrong and fix it with a spot of solder.
