Default Need help on sevo question

Hello,

Can I put a digital servo in any receiver?

Well I have a MX3 in a GENESIS and i want to buy the HITEC HSC-5998 (digital servo).

Can I do this?

And by the way what do you think about this servo.

Thank you

Yes.

You can use Digital servos with most any standard Receiver, even most old AM Receivers.

You will find a few radios, that requires Digital servos, an example is the Futaba HRS systems.

As for how good the HS-5998 is, I don't have any experiance with that one.

5955 has better specs (both torque and speed) than 5998, I have it on my emaxx steering, and it is impressive.

When upgrading to digital servos is it necessary to upgrade your battery packs. I remember reading somewhere that you had to use a NiMh or NiCD batteries instead of regular alkalines.

Digital servos tend to draw more current, and rechargeable batteries have higher discharge currents that can better provide for the higher amp draw than regular batteries.
