Which FM Radio?
This my first time talking in this form. I want to know what FM radio I can get in the $100-$175 range that will allow me to run regardless of someone having the same frequency. I want to be able to drive at all times.

RE: Which FM Radio?
By that definition this is the perfect choice for you.
http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/D...ProdID=SPM2020
If it's not spread spectrum based then you will still always have to ensure your not running on the same frequency as someone else.

RE: Which FM Radio?
You have two choices:
1: an FM Synthesized system, where you can manually change your channel to a free one, if the one you previusly selected has already been taken.
There you could look at the Sanwa MX3-S, JR XS-3/XS-3 Pro, or Hitec CRX with a Spectra system.
2: You can go for a 2.4Ghz system, that automatically finds a free channel in the 2.4ghz band.
There you can look at the Spektrum DX2 or DX3, the modular Spektrum systems and the Nomadio Sensor is over your stated budget.
The Spektrum DX3 should be available on eBay and other places, in the US$ 200-250 range. Some say they have gotten it as low as US$ 180.

RE: Which FM Radio?
Spektrum = no worry about frequencys at all. It takes care of all that for you. And if it can't find an open slot to use the transmitter will not establish a connection with the receiver so you will not bomb anyone else out and nobody can do the same to you either.
If i recall correctly there are potentially 79 usable channels for use at any given time. Now you name me an RC even when anymore then 20 people are going to have their radios on at the same time let alone all of them having Spektrums
