If your radio is on 27MHz AM, then any 27MHz AM receiver should work.

No it will not! When it is important enough to type it where it is easy to read then it will be important enough to tell you why and what will work with it.

Then please enlighten instead of just saying it won't work... [:'(]

Not all AM radios are compatible. I bought a Futaba 2PL 27 MHz and it did not work with the stock HPI 27 MHz receiver when using both the crystals from the original radio system that cam with the HPI vehicle as well as the crystals that came with the 2PL and it did not work properly. So I emailed Futaba and they said that not all AM or FM even if the same MHz will work together. It sure did not work for my so I think what Futaba told me to be true. I have tried it with several different brand receivers using a matched pair of crystals and some work and some do not. Unless things changed the radios HPI use are made by Airtronics. Does this answer your question?

Yes thanks for sharing. So there are still some differences in the AM modes that make them incompatible...

Am and FM for one thing. Make sure you use a FM RX with a FM TX. I can't tell you how many times I have watched people try and use a FM TX with an AM RX and wonder why their car runs away.
