nimh batteries???

Default nimh batteries???

is it ok to use nimh batteries with futaba servos such as this: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...4&I=LXDWF8&P=K
i only ask because it suggests that you use nicd batteries.

It works fine. I don't know why they say NiCd only. I guess that if you got a REALLY powerful servo (much stronger than the one in the link) that uses A LOT of current the NiCd makes sense because they can deliver much higher currents.

if you have the need for a large servo, then you likely also have the space for a Sub-C based battery pack.

Sub-C NiMh batteries comes in up to around 4000 mah, and you can find versions that can deliver 30+ Amps.
That should be enough for any servo, except maybe the largest Tonegawa 395kg/cm one

SUb C do you 4300 and can power around 100 amps... even a 6 cell pack can handel a tonewaga
