Mars Rover
This is my 1st RC car.
Its an Evader.
I bought the cheapest car i could find.
Not exactally made for tearing up the track!
I am also video [link=http://road82.com/32seconds.html]junkie[/link].
I video EVERYTHING. well.. not everything.
So this has become more of a "mars land rover"
(after 3 weeks i still havnt taken the body out of the plastic!)
I duct taped all the lights on so that you can see the end goal.
All that stuff - including the camera, are easily removed.
The rockets will be added in the future.
I was told the heat will destroy the car.. So they will be added
after i am ready to start on a new car.
(with video!)
Anyone have any advice on adding rocket power?
My video is at the top of the page.

RE: Mars Rover
I made some LEGO cars with model Rocket Motors. One thing that I an tell you is that with a big vehicle like that the rocket motors won't make a difference. Also, th model rocket motors only burn for like 2-3 seconds, so it will be a huge waste of money. Sorry man.

RE: Mars Rover
When the time comes for rockets - It will have no lights or camera.
Just engine, frame & rockets mounts., and rockets.
The "Mars Rover" is a seperate project.
How big were the engines you used?
These 3 only cost $16.
Just found a site that sells them for $11.69
Maybey if i put 6 on it??
Their Maximum Lift Weight: 15 oz.
Thurst Duration: 2.8 sec
Car weights just under 4lb with battery.
Could be lots of smoke and fire?

RE: Mars Rover
The reason why I said they are expensive, is because I am only 14. 16 dollars seems like a hell of a lot for a three second burst, that may not even do anything. If I were you I would get the biggest rocket I could find and put some fins on the car. [>:]

RE: Mars Rover
I think I you take a lot of weight out of the car and put like a couple "D" size rockets you will have something. Note: You may need to make a special mount to hold the rockets far enough away from the car.
