Default Tamiya Astute

Hey There:

I have an Astute kicking around that I'm thinking making functional again. The buggy is in good shape it just needs electronics, spur and pinion gear. Can anybody give me some ideas as to where I'm going to find a spur gear for this vehicle? It doesn't have a slipper clutch but I do believe it was optional at the time. So if Tamiya has a more up to date setup that would be compatible that would work too.
Also.....any idea if a 550 sized motor will fit? I can't see why it wouldn't but I'm no expert.

cheers

back in the day when people tried to race an astute others would say they should have called it the asstoot. they were fun for bashing but not much else. tamiya parts are all over the net.

I'll throw up a couple pics of it soon. I did find a gear bag on Ebay for it......in Hong Kong. Reasonably priced thow at $30.

nope. Still there. It hasn't been turned on in over ten years though so who knows if it still works.

Ill bet it does, hook a battery up n see, is it a duster ? cant quiet see.
ive got a few old novak's that still work fine, a duster, explorer, and a dually.
They all sat mothballed for a long time.
