I will probably test out the paddle and Mohawk on the Blitzer.. and obviously, run the Blizzard as well!

I like the mudding pics.. LOL! I mean, w/ that box van shell, it creates an air bubble when inverted into the water... electronics stay dry.. LOL!

As long as they are not underwater, they will be fine....
ESC is usually pretty water tight... (again, not trying to run underwater..)
The LRP in my Blitzer Beetle is actually waterproof.. so...
I will run it in the snow...

Are you planning on getting your brushless wet?

Alright, how many of you think this would help?? I saw this setup on a LB and was wondering what's the motivation behind it.
With the shock now extending out on the lower mount, it would seem that it would create a moment (a twist if you will) on the lower shock mount, and actually make it less effective..
LOL, I mean, not like a LB would ever handle well, but for discussion sake.. it is an interesting setup nonetheless..
Also note the upper shock mount is braced to the chassis. Hmm...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
the added leverage would certainly seem to increase the chance of the lower shock mount breaking. if they had mounted the shock to the axle spread out it would at least be logically sane. the pivot point for the axle will remain the same place as-is. so i dont see what the advantage would be either.
however, i will say that the person has one hell of a wheelie wheel. and did you notice the 3rd shock? that is mounted to the bottom of the tub, not the top of the chassis. is that what you guys did, too?
for the top shock mounts, i would bet that is an attempt to minimize rear chassis flex...much like you guys do to the front shock mounts. but that's just a guess. even if the logic doesn't make sense about the shocks, you cna be sure that person loves the LB or else they wouldn't do so much work to it!

I did that, too. If you mount the bracket to the top, you won't be able to place your esc on top any more.

Seeing that it uses the stock wheelie bar, the bigger wheels will prevent it from wheelie higher though!
I mount the 3rd shock to the top of the chassis.. I feel that way it is not create a moment on the chassis.. although I doubt it would break the chassis or anything!

I use rivet, so there's no nut sticking out.. so you can still mount the ESC on top if you wish...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
I just brought my lunchbox (a childhood dream finally realized!) I've wanted it since 1987 when I was 8 years old, I wanted it for christmas that year and the year after and pretty much every year till around 1992 but my parents wouldn't purchase a 300.00 car for me at that age so I finally brought it for myself exactly 20 years later!
Now the purpose for me writing this is because now that I have it I want to do some serious moding to actually make this little van be a pretty good handler and even more fun rc truck. Considering I've never did anything to my rc cars I don't even know where to begin. I want to add a second row of shocks to the rear and put on wider towers for better overall stability. I also want to get a brushless motor and esc for speed. What do you think and where do I start to try to accomplish this?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Well, I know that the lunchbox isn't made for handling, but why not do something different? Im not saying I want it to be a Traxxas T-Maxx or anything, I just want to be able to turn with a little consistancy. So that motor and esc works well for you? no problems? easy installation?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
amazingly easy!! just bolt in the motor as normal, set the esc.. (takes 30 seconds) and away you go!! the transmition can take it! even with lots of rough start stopping. what i did find though is that if you make it faster you will find the front comes down harder after a wheelie so the front suspention on mine is set very hard!
