Sounds good to me, you can also try Towerhobbies.com from U.S.

And welcome to the forums!

Sure, but then you won't be able to run the 10T pinion..

What you described is basically the Hornet setup... (which has small tires) So you are going to be over-gearing the LB if you don't use the motor adaptor...

is ther a way to get rid of that plastic piece between the motor and tranny?

Yeah, I suggest one of those Asian sellers w/ high feedback! (such as rcmart, etc.) rc champ (I think) from Japan is good too!

Hello lunchboxers, I'm planning to get a lunchbox but I'm from the Philippines. There aren't many local hobby shops around and I just wanna know where to get a lunchbox on the internet since I'm not very fond of ordering online goods.

A lot of different Tamiya models use the same chassis. What other models use the LB chassis? Is there somewhere to go and see what uses what chassis?

Thx

I don't know if there's any official resource for that, but the following kits use similar gearbox / suspension design:

Grasshopper, Hornet, Lunchbox, Pumpkin, Pajero (the older one, not the 4WD XC chassis one)

I might have missed some...

Grasshopper and Hornet use the same chassis, LB and Pumpkin use the same chassis, while the Pajero use something else (very similar, however..)

You are missing the point.. the function of the adaptor is to move the motor closer to the spur, so you can run the 10T pinion...

Without the adaptor, you'd need some other way to move the motor closer in order to run a small pinion gear..

hehe wrong way round.

the longer pinion is because of the adapter plate

Which is the opposite of what you want to do... gear it down to run faster motor...

yeah ok but a bigger pinion.. say 15t would make the top speed amazingly quick!! acceleration and torque would be reduced so the wheelie would be pathetic

I think the 10T pinoin is designed for the stock motor.. anything hotter should really gear it down some.. (which is not possible..) Throw in any BL setup and it is really fast already... (30mph LB, LOL!)

Lucky most BL setup has good torque and flexible enough to overgear it some.. but certainly not ideal..

I know aftermarket sells adjustable motor plate for Clod.. one might be able to use that on a LB.. (similar gearbox design) To allow some more flexibility in gearing choice!

thanks for the directions! I couldn't figure out how to post them. Well anyway, here are the pics of my 3 shock mod. This is my first time working on an rc so give me a break, believe it or not it actually works pretty well so far, I haven't had a chance to push it hard yet, just around inside the house but I'll take it out side and see how it does this weekend.
tested my version of the 3rd shock assembly today in a little off road and on road bashing. It works well, wheelies are stronger, (to the point where I can actually stand the box all the way up on the wheelie bar with the back tires off of the ground and then it bounces back down and keeps driving. it seems to be a little more stable at higher speeds to (not as bouncy) So far so good. I only did 1 run today so I'll keep ya'll posted after a few more tests.
