well, it's kind of a weak solution to my problem...but oh well...

i decided to go with the XL-5 esc new, and am going to use an adapter on the battery. that way, the connectors stay stock & the lifetime warranty on the esc (good lord i hope i don't have to use it) will only be $20 instead of $35. much mo better.

got to drive my lunchbox today in what felt like forever. i remember it being faster, but i've been driving the brushless pede, so i guess that'll do it to you. it's all good though, i'll be driving the lucnhbox for a few days i'm sure!

that esc can only handle a 20t motor...don't see how it could be better than the teu-101bk...that is a great esc, it just doesn't handle high power motors

the tire was put on backwards .thats what happens when little kids distract you and as far as the stock esc it was defective so i used it as a excuse to get a better one. and yes i read the set up instructions on the esc still doesnt work. the new esc plus some debonder and more CA glue i still come in under my 400.00 limit. so i can get some stuff done to my svt

what modifacations do you have to make to put the xl-5 stampede front shocks on the LB and will that help with the bounce you get with the stock shocks?

this is from pg 18...go there and you can read all about it, with pictures...

ORIGINAL: broncojd

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

finally, the oil-filled shocks came and are installed. HOLY COW...can i get some camber?!

these are the stock front shocks from the traxxas stampede, rustler, bandit, and sport. i used front traxxas shocks on the front and back of the 'box. i got the shocks from the new XL-5 stampede that come with white springs. i painted them to match the body of the lunchbox. however, they are friggin' STIFF! what weight oil do you guys use in your lunchboxes? when i replace the oil i'll put in some spacers to fix that camber.

up next: the wheels for the 2.2 tires i recently bought and some of the oil shock brackets to attempt the 3rd shock.

check the pics...pretty sharp if i say so myself.

you need 2 sets of the front shocks traxxas stampede/rustler/bandit shocks. or the rc10, or hpi rs4mt, rs4mt2, or any other 90mm shock. the rear will fit fine, but the front will need a spacer put inside the shock to limit the travel by about 1/2 a cm. otherwise the camber on the front end will be outrageous.
