luckily i had some left over TS paint (from the Lunchbox) to paint the mirrors, just used up all the yellow PS paint on the body (7 coats!) and applied a few decals, it looks very cool!

Looking good Lee. Strange choice, but meh.
I would have scoured for a Porsche, but it would probably have cost ya.
Thanks to you I spent out on a CC01. I'll be asking you what I should do with it later!
And wait til you see the new body I just bought for the M03....
Chris.

there's only a couple of fitting issues with this shell, the rear body posts need to be moved back about 1cm and maybe moved outwards a few MM, i reckon you have gone old skool with the M-03, maybe the Honda SMX or Toyota BB shell??

I think we need an M03 loooove thread - I have three at the moment and a 4th is promised
I have a BMW Mini, Rover Mini Cooper (2 shells) and a Lunchbox on my M03 chassis.....
The Lunchbox was my race shell on sunday - people where laughing so much they crashed, so I came second (again)

What do you mean that they don't fit?! Wouldn't you fit the body to the car before you start cutting / painting? Not sure what you meant, I guess..

Let me guess, too narrow? Or too shorter wheelbase....
Hmm. What to do for a beater body now then eh? We still have a pre-painted Corolla body meant for the QD series, but it's the same mould as the one for the TA03F-S. It has large holes for the body posts, but nothing which can't be sorted. We have two in stock and they've been kicking around for years. I'm sure we could negotiate on price if you want one. We may even have a 206 meant for the QD series - same idea. Up to you, contact me before lunchtime!
Chris.

slightly too narrow, but the 2mm wheelbase difference is noticable (237mm vs 239mm) plus the body post holes are actually wider than the TA-03's.. i'm tempted by the 206.. [:'(]

RE: Lee's vintage TA-03 R S TRF build thread
i just got a ta03 trf from ebay and i love it. i drove it for about 5 minutes just to see if it all worked.
i have taken the entire car apart and was amazed at the simple design. i have a TA05 also and besides the chassis's being completely different. the gearing and differential are completely perfect as far as i can tell. i dont see how those huge gears would ever strip.
some screws were stuck in the mounts but i used some WD40 and the backed out with some effort.
i will have to but a new shell for the car.
here are some pics.
i got everything you see for $136 shipped. what do you think.??

You got it LB.
it was the way it was shipped. those are the pics that were up on ebay from the seller. i guess the battery was dead.
but doesnt everyone drive full throttle all the time?
i feel more accepted now that i got a response from the legendary Lunch box.
ive read the whole DF03 thread, i want one next but i have so many project cars to work on.
i have a TA05 that i am slowly upgrading,
GB01 fox, (very fun little car)
vendetta/MB4,
three old kyosho outlaw raiders,
one evader pro,
one kyosho ultima ST,
micro T,
xmod,
and an olf kyosho SR5 pan car/stock car..
yeah i think that all of them

the main fun for me was building this hop-up laden beast! i do have 2 still in the box though.. wish i'd built the standard chassis and not the short now, so i'd have more bodyshell options.. [:@]

RE: Lee's vintage TA-03 R S TRF build thread
i've got my ta05 NSX body, and i have a HPI nissan skyline body, both at 190MM wide and regulation length.
i ahve the car completely torn down now to make sure everything was in working order. its got some really nice parts.
front one way, ball diff, alloy wheel mounts, which are stuck on and i dont know if the previous owner locktited them on or what. im a little worries about them on because i cant get to the bearings on the inside.
all the bearings are tamiya's upgraded sealed bearings.
the bottom of the chassis is a little roughed up, but still functional.
it also came with trf shocks all the way around.
i cant wait to get a the thing going!

RE: Lee's vintage TA-03 R S TRF build thread
here is my TA03 TRF with the new body and all my elecs in it.
what do you guys think.
oh and i do NOT like the front one way. there is no braking at all, they just free wheel. makes it more challenging to drive. might as well be a better driver
the pictures are with all my cars and trucks. got bored last night and took some pics.
most of the chassis pics are with my TA05. just for a little comparison of two generations of the TAXX cars.
