Nice Vid.
As I remember, the suspesion worked fairly well - the front bumper and lower arms broke pretty easily. The biggest drawback was the ride hight - they were extremely low. I have a Hotshot and Frog still in the box from 1983 and '85 that I never built. I saw the prices of the Frog as high as $750 until the re-release then the bottom fell out. Guess the same will happen to the Hotshot.
I'm still getting one. Waiting on my Brat as well. On order, just not here.

I guess the re-re would have to be a massive improvement over the mk1 if it were to be used as a runner. Still looks killer though[8D]

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
i agree with this guy
Don’t get me wrong, I look forward to the re-release too, but rather than a model just suitable as a “static†model for the showcase, I would prefer a massively improved design, or even better, a completely different modern design like the DF-03 chassis, but with monoshocks, rollcage and correct colour coding of all visible parts. After all, a re-release identical to the original would not convey the same nostalgic feelings or appreciation of collectibility as an original model anyway. A completely new model with the basic looks of the Hotshot would allow for the best of two worlds in my opinion; a greatlooking model suitable for resurrecting those mid-eighties memories, but suitable for running, with handling and durability we could only dream of “back thenâ€.

Isn't that the truth. I will be picking up 2 of these, and probably lots of Tamiya hop ups. So they have some of my money coming lol.

One for me, and one for my 13 year old son. We are gonna build and run them together all this summer, at my buddies backyard track. Just gonna run sport tuned motors though. Nothing crazy.[] This buggy has actually caused quite a stir with all of my RC buddies. There are 7 of us that are getting them to run together in our own little spec class series every other sunday. Should be a good time.

I emailed Tamiya and they still have no info on a release date. Probably keeping it a secret, but still, no info none the less.

Yeah it should be a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to it. It's gonna be all about tuning, and that always makes for some close competition.

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
Should be out by the end of June and I've heard rumours that the Boomerang and Supershot re-re will follow the hotshot.
