Nope, they have only released it once, the Hotshot is the first of tamiya's 'shot' series to be re-re.

Yeah, it would make sense for them to re-re it as it will be very close to the HotShot.. (except the rear shock design) So it would be an easy job for Tamiya..

But then, so would a Monster Beetle.. [:@]

Why do you like Boomerang over Super/Hotshot?

It is like 1/2 way in between... has the single shock up front and dual shocks on the back...

Can we stop using the term re-re, I think people that rode the short bus might take offense.

I should get some pics of mine....I hope the rerelease is close to the original because I'm missing a tire and a suspension arm is cracked.

never said that I prefer the boomerang over the Supershot [scratches head], don't get me wrong, the Supershot is one wicked looking buggy, and is more sophisticated, but I prefer the sleeker look of the Boomerang.

my 21st century imagination is obviously different from the 20th century process that went into the design of the boomerang... if someone asked me to design that body i'll just literally have a boomerang on 4 wheels and call it done

I think the boomerang body was designed when someone in Tamiya HQ stepped on a hotshot body.

Lol, I disagree, when compared to the Hotshot body (essentially a skimpy peice of plastic that wraps around the chassis which barely covers it), IMO the boomerang body looks like it has been designed. It has a sleek timeless look to it that gives the impression it's fast without it moving. It was one of tamiya's first low profile bodies that was miles ahead of it's time which is now over 23 years old and it can still hold it's own, even against tamiya's latest line of 4wd buggies (DI comes to mind)

Coming along nicely fastmax, do you think the drivetrain will hold up to a BL system?

Thanks, I really need a new body, but it seems they are very difficult to come by. I think the gears could handle a BL setup, but the wire driveshaft and plastic cups would probably self destruct lol.
