CONFUSED ABOUT SSC WEIGHT

I've been to the RCCA site and have read the rules for OPEN COMBAT. The weight rule given for class A was a MAX of 2.5 pounds. The weight spec for SSC was given as a minimum of 2.5 pounds. I figure that SSC would fall under the same general rules as class A OPEN, so I just want to be absolutely sure about this before I finish building my SSC ships

Thanks TATTOO! I was hoping that the wording at the RCCA site was a typo and that a SSC plane could run in class A with just an engine swap. I guess a dual purpose plane is possible if there was a way to add and subtract useful weight. thanks again!

From: Laurel, MD,
It is actually possible. My SSC planes weight in just under 2.5lbs, so I tape on some lead on the CG to make weight.
However, I've also found that my SSC wings are too slow for A class, so I while I do use the same fuse, I swap wings betweent the two classes. Same root chord and same airfoil, just smaller span for A.
Oh, and A and SSC really aren't directly related. It's better to think of them as seperate classes, even though they share the same engine dispalcement.

Thanks again KIRK! I guess with a multi purpose design you end up with too many compromises. I'm going with a flying wing and a unremovable tongue hanging of the front to mount the engine, so my design is less versatile than yours, but they sure went together fast!
