I am trying to gather information for a presentation at our next meeting, concerning the possibility of flying combat at our field. For our sport flying we have PVC flight stations/with plastic fencing material. I noticed in a picture on a combat site, there were no flight stations. There was a chalk line and / or yellow tape to mark a lines for contestants. (we are aware of the spectator distance and safety line)
We will be flying ONLY informal combat for now ........ BUT we WILL be following all the AMA safety rules. (to cover our rear ends with insurance). Soooooo, what is the deal with the flight stations??
Are they necessary for AMA rules etc, or was I looking at pictures of club combat where they were not following necessary Safety Rules? Any other info will be appreciated!! ......thanks... lownslo

There was something on your diagram that I did not know about. (the 15 foot area directly in front of the pilots). I only knew about the 25 foot. zone between combat engagement line and the safety line. The 15 foot zone is news to me!!!
... thanks.....lowslo.....
PS. I quickly edited my post because I missed your text answer.. OPPS
