Default Question ABout Rip-Stop Nylon

After reading how strong Rip-Stop Nylon (RSN) is in Combat, I figured I'd give it a try. I picked up some RSN from the local fabric store and figured I'd try it out this weekend. My problem is that I have a hard time discerning which side is up, without some type of pattern on one side of the plane. My question is what techniques have you used to trim RSN coated planes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
- JK

PS Just in case anyone cares the plane in question is a Gremlin.
