Well, by this question you will see I have never seen combat. (I did 25 years ago, but didn't pay attention to the launch). Starting this spring, we are going to fly informal combat at our field.
I just bought a TufFlight Panther kit. We plan to have observers/helpers...... but we may not have a guy for each pilot. How do you guys hold and launch a plane like the Panther, with a streamer, by yourself?

There are extensive directions in the instructions as to how to apply the sandpaper to the outside of the fuel tank and how to attach the fuel tank. You then hold the plane by the tank (which just happens to be at about the CG) and give it an underhand launch. With a .25 engine it just jumps out of your hand but with the .15 you have to give it a good push.
