Default pocket rocket

From JKAerotech,, any body built one?,,the 1/2a mustang, I'm still on their trainer and I know that will be a big switch, but heck if its anywhere near as tough as the trainer , all I got to worry about is breakin a prop...plus, I work at night and fly in the morning when no one is around so thats not a problem....I mostly hang out in the 1/2a forum anyway, just thought I'd see if any one of you guys had built one and how it handled,, I built a spad too but they are heavy and fast for training...thanks.. Rog

I liked the FW-190 the best, then the F4U over the Mustang. You are correct though about the toughness. These kits are simple to build and easy to fly. What size engine are you thinking about?

Sorry, I was referring more to the combat or .25 size planes. I used them as trainers when I was learning to fly. These birds are tough!

Hey, where do you fly at over in Burlington?

We have 2 fields now one is 23 miles away in Snow Camp and the other is 6 miles away in Swepsonville (the old land fill) both are really nice open fields, the 2nd one we just opened a couple of months ago.... how far are you from the Alba plant?... when to fly my trainer this morning but the wind really kicked up on the ride out there and it was too windy for me...Rog

I'm not far at all from Alba. Our club is in Roadhis though. This time of year is great to fly if you like doin it sideways. I took my son up on the buddy box two weeks ago, poor guy just couldn't get a chance because of the wind. If you pm me with some contact info I can bring you a Jk kit next time I am in Burlington if you want to see what one looks like. I have a FW-190 and a Corsair. A freind of mine may have the JK trainer if your interested. Keep in mind they are all .25 size.

Hey Vicman, I have the trainer already, I thought about getting the corsair but I drive a Miata and if the wing dont come off, it dont fit, heck the trainer just barely fits in the car in 2 pieces, thats one of the reasons I'm thinking of getting the pocket rocket, I thought of the simple series from ace but, these guys are so tough(and cheap) and my skills are kindergarden level,, I did fly this morning and broke a prop on the landing they are always deadstick cause its a control line tank for the norvel .049 thats .5 oz so it flys for like 3 minutes unless I catch a thermal like today....Rog
oh I guess you travel in your business/job but I sleep during the day so meeting up is usually difficult but, if your heading this way, sometime give me a pm

The Corsair isn't that big! Of course I have a 4X4 Quadcab Ram so things are a little relative. I have a Simple Series ME 109 that I havn't flown yet, I think the JK is Better Tougher and just as easy to build.

Yes I do get ofer in the Burlington area about every two weeks or so. Usually later in the afternoon. If you need small have you tried the gws tiger moth? One of the easiest planes I have ever flown! The GWS Corsair Rocks Too.
